Get answers to your most common pricing questions and choose the pricing plan that works best for your organization.
Hi! I’m Catie with RallyUp. How can I help you? Hi, Catie. What does RallyUp cost? So Free pricing is our most popular option. With the Free plan, there’s no platform fee. Instead, donors can optionally tip RallyUp at checkout. We also offer our Flex plan where you pay a platform fee and donors are not asked to tip. You mentioned donor tipping. What is that and how does it work? So if your Campaign uses Free pricing, then donors will see an option to tip RallyUp when they check out. Tipping is 100% optional. Donors will see a suggested tip amount, but they can change it or decide not to tip at all. So why does RallyUp ask for tips? Donor tipping allows you to fundraise for free while also allowing RallyUp to cover operating costs, make platform improvements, and offer expert guidance. So then what’s the catch? If a donor decides not to tip, does my organization still have to pay a fee? Nope. There’s no catch. With the Free plan, you will never pay a platform fee, even if no donors tip. What’s the platform fee for the Flex plan? The platform fee depends on the Components you run and ranges from 2.9% to 6.9%. Okay. So let’s say I want to run a Raffle and sell merchandise, and I don’t wanna ask my donors to tip. What do I have to pay for the platform fees? If you’re running a Raffle and a Storefront in the same Campaign, then Raffle entry purchases will have a 6.9% platform fee, and Storefront purchases will have a 2.9% platform fee. What about an Auction? Online Auctions have a 4.9% platform fee on the Flex plan with a cap of no more than $100 per Auction item. And just like Raffles and Storefronts, that fee is calculated per transaction and displayed clearly in your reports. Okay. So what if I want to run my Raffle on the Free plan instead? You absolutely can! Just keep in mind that on the Free plan, Raffles have a minimum entry requirement. So donors purchase a bundle of entries rather than a single ticket. If you need to sell single entries, you’ll want to use the Flex plan, which gives you full control over your entry pricing and quantities. I don’t think I can keep track of what platform fee I’m paying. No problem! It’s on our pricing page. And when you’re creating your Campaign, we’ll tell you the platform fee for each Component you selected before you pick your pricing. We’ll also automatically calculate the fee for each transaction and display it clearly in your Campaign reports. It’s completely transparent. What about the payment processing fees for running transactions through Stripe and PayPal? You pay only what Stripe and PayPal charge. RallyUp does not take a cut or add onto any of these fees. Can I share those fees with donors? Yes! If you opt for the Flex plan, you have options. You can ask donors to cover the platform and/or processing fees, or add a flat convenience fee to each donation to offset costs. You can even turn donor tipping back on, but instead of the tips going to RallyUp, they go to your organization. So when my Campaign ends, how much does my organization really receive? If you opt for the Free plan, your organization receives all funds raised minus the payment processing fees, which go to Stripe or PayPal. And if you opt for the Flex plan, your organization receives all funds raised minus the platform fees, which go to RallyUp, and the payment processing fees, which go to your payment processor. And if you pass fees onto donors, that will also increase the amount you keep. So are there any other differences between the two plans? Both plans give you access to the Core Components of our Fundraising Portfolio, which include Raffles, Sweepstakes, Online Auctions, Ticketing & Registration, Crowdfunding, A-Thons, Peer-to-Peer, and Storefront. The Flex Plan also gives you access to the Advanced Components of our Fundraising Portfolio, which are designed for in-person fundraising. And these include Live Auctions, Silent Auctions, Fund-a-Needs, Paddle Raise+, Event Balances, Automated Checkout, and Live Display. So which plan should I choose? If you don’t need our Advanced Components and you don’t want to pay a platform fee, then I would suggest the Free plan. If your organization prefers to cover the platform fee or wants to pass fees on to donors, or need our Advanced Components for your in-person event, I would suggest the Flex plan. Great.
