When fundraising with a RallyUp Auction, there are two Auction styles for you to choose from: English-style or Proxy Bidding. Let's take a look at an English-style Auction. Susie bids ten dollars for a Ghostbusters shirt. Jane sees the same shirt, and she's going to bid twenty dollars. Susie gets a notification that she's been outbid, so she decides to bid fifty dollars. Whoever has the highest bid by the time the Auction ends is the one who's going to win the shirt. Now, let's take a look at a Proxy-style Auction. Let's say Susie bids five dollars on a Batman thermos. She sets her max bid to thirty dollars. A proxy acts as a person who stays at the Auction for you and bids on your behalf up to the max bid you authorize. Jane wants the same thermos. She is going to bid ten dollars, but she is going to set her max bid to fifteen dollars. The proxy for Susie automatically outbids Jane's bid with a bid of twenty dollars. If the Auction ended at that moment, Susie would win the thermos.
