Correct your Facebook post if it displays the wrong image or title.
Why does my Facebook post show the wrong Campaign image or title?
When you share a RallyUp link on Facebook, it automatically pulls in your Campaign title and an image.
Facebook controls how often shared information is refreshed. This means that outdated information may appear if you share your link after making changes to your Campaign’s image or title.
How do I fix a Facebook post with outdated Campaign information?
- Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/.
- Copy the link you want to share on Facebook.
- Paste your link in the bar at the top and select Debug.
- Select Scrape again.
You should now see the updated image and title:

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Facebook show old information when I share my Campaign link?
Facebook controls how often shared information is refreshed from websites. When you share your Campaign link after making changes to your image or title, Facebook may display cached (outdated) information instead of your current Campaign details.
Do I need to delete and recreate my Facebook post?
No, you don’t need to delete your post. You can fix the issue by using Facebook’s Sharing Debugger tool to force Facebook to scrape and refresh the information from your Campaign link.
How long does it take for Facebook to update the image and title?
Once you use the Sharing Debugger tool and click “Scrape again,” Facebook updates the information immediately. You should see the correct image and title right away in the debugger results.
Will this fix affect posts I’ve already shared?
Unfortunately, using the debugger tool only affects future shares of your Campaign link. Previously shared posts will continue to display the old information. You may need to share the link again or edit existing posts.
Can I prevent this issue from happening?
The best way to prevent this issue is to finalize your Campaign title and banner image before sharing your Campaign link on Facebook. If you must make changes after sharing, use the Sharing Debugger tool to update Facebook’s cache.
