Frequently Asked Questions About RallyUp Pricing

What’s the difference between Free and Flex pricing?

Free pricing has no Platform Fee but includes optional Donor Tipping (tips go to RallyUp). You also get access to the Core Components of our Fundraising Portfolio.

Flex pricing charges a Platform Fee (0%-6.9% depending on Component) but disables Donor Tipping by default, or allows you to keep tips if enabled. You also get access to the Advanced Components of our Fundraising Portfolio.

Can I change my pricing plan after launching?

Your pricing plan locks in once your Campaign goes live. However, you can change your pricing plan anytime before launching, and you can use different pricing plans for different Campaigns.

What fees do I pay with Free pricing?

With Free pricing, there’s no Platform Fee. You only pay payment processing fees (1.9%-2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, varying by payment processor and nonprofit status) set by Stripe or PayPal. Donors can optionally tip RallyUp during checkout.

What are the platform fees for Flex pricing?

Flex Platform Fees range from 0% to 6.9% depending on the Components(s) you select for your Campaign. For example: Livestreaming and Peer-to-Peer are free (0%), Ticketing & Registration is 2.9%, Auctions and Crowdfunding are 4.9%, and Raffles and Sweepstakes are 6.9%.

What is RallyUp’s Free Pricing Plan?

Short answer: Free pricing charges no Platform Fee but allows donors to optionally tip RallyUp during checkout, with tips supporting platform operations.

Detailed explanation:

Free pricing is ideal if you:

  • Don’t want to pay a Platform Fee
  • Are comfortable with donors having the option to tip RallyUp
  • Are running a Raffle/Sweepstakes and can offer at least 10 entries on your lowest entry level

How Does Donor Tipping Work with Free Pricing?

During checkout, donors see an optional tipping question with suggested tip amounts they can accept, decrease, or remove. These tips go directly to RallyUp to cover operational costs and platform improvements. If no donors tip, you still won’t be charged any Platform Fee.

What About Payment Processing Fees?

All transactions incur payment processing fees charged by your payment processor (Stripe or PayPal), regardless of which RallyUp pricing plan you choose. These fees typically range from 1.9% to 2.9%, plus $0.30 per transaction, depending on your arrangement with the processor.

Important: RallyUp does not receive any portion of payment processing fees and does not add charges for payment processing. You pay exactly what the processor charges—nothing more. 501(c) organizations can apply directly to Stripe or PayPal for nonprofit discounts on processing fees.

With Flex pricing, you can choose to pass payment processing fees on to donors at checkout.

What is RallyUp’s Flex Pricing Plan?

Short answer: Flex pricing charges a Platform Fee (0%-6.9% based on Component) but disables Donor Tipping by default, giving you more control over the checkout experience. You also get access both the Core Components and Advanced Components of RallyUp’s Fundraising Portfolio.

Detailed explanation:

Flex pricing is ideal if you:

  • Prefer not to ask donors to tip
  • Are runing a Raffle/Sweepstakes and don’t want bonus entries offered
  • Want to offer fewer than 10 entries on your lowest Raffle/Sweepstakes entry level
  • Want to use any/all of the Advanced Components to help you manage your in-person event.

Platform Fees vary by Component type:

  • 2.9%: Ticketing & Registration, Storefront
  • 4.9%: Auctions (Live, Digital, Silent), Crowdfunding, Fund-a-Need, Paddle Raise+, A-Thons
  • 6.9%: Raffles, Sweepstakes
  • Free (0%): Livestreaming, Peer-to-Peer, Event Balances, Automated Checkout, Live Display

If you run multiple fundraising Components in the same Campaign, RallyUp automatically applies the appropriate fee to each donation/item without requiring separate checkout for different items.

For example, if somebody buys Raffle entries and wins an Auction item, then the Raffle entries will incur a 6.9% fee while a 4.9% fee will be applied to the winning Auction bid.

You don’t need to do anything. RallyUp manages the details and gives you a ledger of the fees applied to each part of each checkout.

Can I Pass Fees on to Donors?

Yes, RallyUp offers multiple ways to offset fundraising costs:

  • Ask or require donors to cover the platform fee
  • Require donors to cover payment processing fees
  • Add a customizable convenience fee (flat dollar amount or percentage)

How Does Donor Tipping Work with Flex Pricing?

While donor tipping is disabled by default on Flex pricing, you can enable it—and keep all tips for your organization. The tipping question is fully customizable, including header text, body copy, and suggested tip amounts.

The platform fee is calculated from your final amount raised. If you receive enough tips to cover the platform fee, your organization keeps the extra revenue.

For Flex pricing Raffles and Sweepstakes, you can also enable bonus entries and keep those proceeds.
