Add fund codes to Campaign transactions for accounting purposes.
A fund code is an optional identifier you can use to “tag” transactions for accounting purposes. If you add a fund code to your Campaign settings, the system will mark each donation with the code in your RallyUp reports. You can then use the code to help track which donations came from which Campaign.
What are fund codes and why should I use them?
Fund codes are optional identifiers that help you organize and track donations for accounting purposes. By adding a unique fund code to each Campaign, you can easily identify which donations came from which fundraiser when reviewing financial reports. This is particularly useful for organizations running multiple Campaigns or departments that need to track funds separately.
Important note: If you’re using Stripe as your funding method, the fund code will appear in Stripe reports as well. If you’re using PayPal as your funding method, the fund code will not appear in PayPal reports, but will still appear in RallyUp reports.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use different fund codes for different campaigns?
Yes, you can assign unique fund codes to each Campaign. This allows you to track donations separately by Campaign, making it easier to organize financial data and report to different departments or funding sources.
What happens if I don’t add a fund code?
Fund codes are optional. If you don’t add one, your Campaign will function normally, but you won’t have this additional tracking identifier in your reports. You can still track donations by Campaign name and other transaction details.
Can I change a fund code after my Campaign has started?
Yes, you can update the fund code at any time through Campaign Setup. However, only transactions that occur after the change will display the new fund code. Previous transactions will retain the original fund code they were tagged with.
Do fund codes appear in Stripe and PayPal reports?
Fund codes appear in Stripe reports if you’re using Stripe as your funding method. However, fund codes do not appear in PayPal reports. Regardless of your payment processor, fund codes will always appear in your RallyUp reports.
What format should I use for fund codes?
You can use any alphanumeric format that makes sense for your accounting system. Common formats include project numbers, department codes, or Campaign identifiers. Check with your accounting team to ensure the format matches your internal tracking systems.
