Cancel bids for your bidders whenever you need.
There may be times when an Auction bidder makes a mistake, or their situation changes, and they need to cancel their bid. RallyUp makes it easy for you to cancel bids whenever necessary.
How do I cancel an Auction bid?
- Go to Account Navigation in the left menu and select Campaigns.
- If you have chosen a list view, click on the Campaign title. If you have chosen a grid view, click on the Campaign image.
- Select View Auction Bids.
- Find the winning bid for the item in question (or use the search tool to find the bidder’s name) and hover your mouse over it.
- Click on the three-dot menu on the right and select Cancel Bid:

- When the following pop-up appears, select Cancel bid:

What else should I know about canceling Auction bids?
- When a bid is canceled, the canceled bidder will receive an email notification from RallyUp confirming their bid was canceled. The next highest bid will automatically become the new winning bid for that item, and that bidder will also receive an email notification letting them know they are now the highest bidder.
- Note: Auction notification emails use a standard template and cannot be customized. For more details, see Insights: Auction FAQs.
- This system does not allow bidders to cancel their own bids so that organizers can ensure that the process is fair to all participants.
- Only bids in winning status can be canceled. Bids in outbid status cannot be canceled, as there is no need to withdraw a bid when a higher bid has negated it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I need to cancel an Auction bid?
You may need to cancel a bid when a bidder makes a mistake, experiences a change in their situation, or needs to withdraw for any valid reason. RallyUp gives organizers the ability to cancel bids to maintain fairness and flexibility.
Can bidders cancel their own bids?
No, bidders cannot cancel their own bids. Only organizers can cancel bids through the Campaign management system. This ensures the auction process remains fair to all participants and prevents bidders from gaming the system.
Can I cancel any bid or only winning bids?
You can only cancel bids in winning status. Bids that have been outbid cannot be canceled because there’s no need to withdraw a bid when a higher bid has already superseded it.
Will the bidder be notified when I cancel their bid?
The bidder whose bid was canceled will see their bid status change, and the next highest bidder will receive a notification that they’re now the winning bidder. This maintains transparency throughout the Auction process.
What happens to a bidder’s Auction Gift when I cancel their bid?
If a bidder added an Auction Gift to their bid, the gift will remain intact as long as the bidder still has at least one active bid on the auction. The gift is only removed if all of that bidder’s bids are canceled. No refund is necessary in this case, as gifts are not charged until the auction closes.
