Understand: Support for International Currencies

Run a fundraiser on RallyUp in your country’s currency and accept payments in other currencies.

RallyUp provides support for international currencies so you can fundraise no matter where your organization or donor base is located. You can set a primary currency for your RallyUp account and accept a wide array of currencies from your donors.


What is a primary currency and how does it work?

You can select your primary currency when you create your RallyUp account, and change it whenever you need. The currency you select will be used to:

  • Display money amounts on your Campaign Page
  • Charge donors’ debit or credit cards
  • Transfer funds raised to your organization’s bank account

RallyUp currently supports 15 different currencies, and the list is growing all the time:

  • Australian dollar (AUD)
  • Brazilian real (BRL)
  • Canadian dollar (CAD)
  • Danish krone (DKK)
  • Euro (EUR)
  • Hong Kong dollar (HKD)
  • Japanese yen (JPY)
  • New Zealand dollar (NZD)
  • Norwegian krone (NOK)
  • Pound sterling (GBP)

Can I accept payments in currencies other than my primary currency?

No matter what primary currency you select, you can always accept payments in other currencies. The currencies you can accept will depend on which funding option you use:

  • PayPal: 130+ currencies (contact PayPal for full list of supported currencies)
  • Stripe: 135+ currencies (contact Stripe for full list of supported currencies)

Note that if you’re using a Donor Advised Fund, Stripe will be used to collect the funds you raise.

What currencies does RallyUp support as primary currencies?

RallyUp currently supports 15 primary currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and others. The full list includes Australian dollar, Brazilian real, Canadian dollar, Danish krone, Euro, Hong Kong dollar, Japanese yen, New Zealand dollar, Norwegian krone, Pound sterling, Singapore dollar, Swedish krona, Swiss franc, and United States dollar.

Can I change my primary currency after creating my account?

Yes, you can change your primary currency whenever you need to. The currency you select determines how amounts display on your Campaign Page, how donors are charged, and how funds transfer to your bank account.

How many currencies can donors use to make payments?

Donors can use 130+ currencies with PayPal or 135+ currencies with Stripe, regardless of your primary currency setting. Contact PayPal or Stripe directly for the complete list of supported currencies for donations.

What happens if a donor pays in a different currency than my primary currency?

Payments in other currencies are automatically converted to your primary currency. The payment processor (PayPal or Stripe) handles the currency conversion, and you receive funds in your selected primary currency.

What if my country’s currency isn’t listed as a primary currency option?

If your currency isn’t currently supported, contact RallyUp and your currency will be added to the list of currencies to include in future updates. The platform is continuously expanding its currency support.
