Moderate your Livestream chat by removing inappropriate comments or users.

RallyUp’s Livestream chat feature is a great way to connect with donors in real time, but if someone acts inappropriately, you can easily delete their comments or ban them if necessary.


What should I know before moderating my Livestream chat?


How do I delete a comment from my Livestream chat?

  1. Go to the Livestream chat and find the comment you want to delete.
  2. Click on the three horizontal dots to the right of the comment:

  1. Select Delete comment to remove the comment from your chat feed.

How do I ban a user from my Livestream chat?

  1. Go to the Livestream chat and find the comment you want to delete.
  2. Click on the three horizontal dots to the right of the comment:

  1. Select Ban user to prevent the user from posting any further comments.

Is banning a user permanent?

  • Banning a user is permanent. Once someone is banned, they won’t be able to make a comment for the rest of the Livestream. However, banned users will be able to comment again during future Livestreams, or if they use a new login.
  • To reduce spam, Livestream viewers can’t send more than five messages every 30 seconds.

Who can delete comments or ban users from the Livestream chat?

Only Campaign Admins have permission to remove comments or ban users from the Livestream chat. If you need to grant someone admin rights to help with moderation, you can add them as a Campaign Administrator.

Can I disable the Livestream chat completely?

Yes, if you don’t have the resources to moderate the chat or prefer not to use it, you can disable the Livestream chat feature entirely through your Campaign settings.

Will banned users stay banned for future Livestreams?

No, banning a user only prevents them from commenting for the duration of the current Livestream. They will be able to comment again during future Livestreams or if they use a new login.

Is there a limit to how many messages viewers can send?

Yes, to reduce spam, Livestream viewers cannot send more than five messages every 30 seconds. This built-in rate limit helps keep the chat manageable and reduces the need for manual moderation.

Can I unban a user during the same Livestream?

Once someone is banned from a Livestream, they cannot participate in the chat for the rest of that Livestream session. However, the ban does not carry over to future Livestreams.
